Greetings! In Luke chapter 10, an expert in religious law of the Old Testament approached Jesus and asked him “what must I do to inherit eternal life?” Instead of answering him directly Jesus instead asked him what was written in the law. To which the expert answered correctly “Love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, with all your strength, and with all your mind, and love your neighbor as yourself,” but later he asked another question “And who is my neighbor?

Often the same question is asked in our day and age. We know that eternal life comes through saving faith in Jesus Christ, and as a disciple of Christ, we are called to “Love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, with all your strength, and with all your mind, and love your neighbor as yourself. But often the question still arises, “who is our neighbor?” Jesus answered this question by the parable of the Good Samaritan and explain that our neighbor may not be the one who may come from our own culture and religious background, but we are to strive to love and help them.

At one time in our history we lived in villages or farms and were able to ascertain who was our neighbor. They were the ones that lived down the road or across the village, but often because of our busy lives we may barely know who lives next door. When Jesus left us to return to the Father he gave his disciples marching orders to "go and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit (Matthew 28:19)." He later added that our work is to done by the power of the Holy Spirit, as we are his “witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the farthest parts of the earth (Acts 1:7-8).”

In order to carry out this command NDCBF has embraced a 4-E Purpose to Exalt the Savior, Equip and Encourage the Saints, and Evangelize the Sinner. Therefore, the role of the World Evangelism Ministry is to continue our own church’s role of evangelism and discipleship in our local community, cross-culturally, and worldwide. Our prayer is that this website is a place of encouragement that helps you understand better your neighbors locally and worldwide.
